Medflow EMR is an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software system that is designed specifically for ophthalmology practices. The Electronic Medical Record software suite can be used by practices offering both ophthalmology and optometry services. The system is available as either a separate EMR software or as a complete EMR suite with Practice Management (PM) services to manage billing, appointments, and scheduling.
The top EMR software has pre-defined built-in templates designed specifically for ophthalmology. These templates include retina scans, eye surgery, cataracts, glaucoma, digital drawings, eye measurements, LASIK procedures, etc. The base package of Medflow Electronic Medical Record also offers ASC and optical modules.
The EHR & PM software supports practices of all sizes, from solo practices to large scale hospitals. The HL7 interface of the software allows the system to incorporate with devices and existing practice management systems. The integrated patient portal allows patients to complete their intake forms and store their medical history online.
Medflow Electronic Medical Record can be used as a hosted solution and also available on-premise using a Microsoft SQL server. The software supports Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Pros: I love that this ophthalmology specific EMR software it is easy to navigate and we’ve been using it smoothly for daily workflows. It has all the key patient information in one place and doesn’t take long to train staff.
Cons: customer support hasn’t always been very helpful.
Verdict: overall i recommend this ophthalmology specific software, they just need to improve their customer service.

Pros: Navigating and learning the system is easy. Despite looking ancient, its very user friendly.
Cons: There is a complete lack of updates to this software, so they clearly arent moving this software forwards with the rest of the industry. I would recommend other software that is actually up to date.
Verdict: Although a serviceable software, I cannot recommend this for a practice that is looking to keep up with the pace of the rest of the industry.

Pros: Allowing me to quickly see which slots are available for appointments of the patient.
Cons: Medflow freezes quite often, especially when opening patient records.
Verdict: The schedule can be viewed in chronological order and as a map-like format.

Pros: Being able to retrieve the medicine from the pharmacy while immediately proceeding to testing. Its an important dual function and is very efficient.
Cons: The system sometimes has a hard time holding information and can crash.
Verdict: A very convenient EMR solution when working with a patient.
