EyeMD EMR partners with FlexSys to provide comprehensive Optical Shop solutions with no cost integration. This helps EyeMD users manage patient history, optical orders, prescription history, financial reporting, lab order management at the point of sale; as well as barcode inventory control, contact lens inventory, Frames™ data integration through the FlexInventory™ Optical Inventory Management.
EyeMD provides the physician with essential tools to make charting simple and effortless all while in consultation with a patient. It can be fully integrated with diagnostic devices allowing imaging results to be viewed on tablets and handheld devices for more detailed viewing and assessment. This makes the diagnosis and eventual treatment easily documented for future progress reports.
The most wonderful feature of EyeMD EMR is its Visit Summary. The Visit Summary includes automated visual alerts of any patient’s abnormal conditions. It helps to consolidate information across multiple visits with the option to only view recently entered data. This allows the staff to view and analyze patient findings over time in side-by-side comparison views, see past medication histories, and access previous diagnostic tests and their accompanying results. The Fast Plan feature automatically creates treatment plans when specific diagnostic codes are used, and the coding tool helps select billing codes that will generate the appropriate level of service.

Pros: EyeMD EHR system includes e-prescribing which allows us to import all patient data and appointment information from our existing practice management system. Another thing worth mentioning is how it automatically suggests charges per patient and can then export it to the system. It can also import notes from Medinotes.
Cons: The charting is not as easy to learn.
Verdict: It is a single interface across multiple departments.
