The online study conducted included more than 5,000 US adults around virtual primary care. The main goal of the study was to understand patients’ interests and satisfaction scores in virtual primary care.

The growing popularity of virtual primary care

Insurers are noticing the growing popularity of virtual primary care. In 2021, Elevance debuted Aetna Virtual Primary Care through CVS Health. Members could access physicians and coordinate care from a team of certified specialists.

In September 2022, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts introduced a new virtual primary care option tagged as the “Virtual Care Team Feature.”  This platform enabled patients to receive comprehensive virtual care through dedicated primary care providers.
