Claiming that most EHR software have been built 20 or 30 years old technology, Allscripts has announced its latest EHR software that is also being referred to as Healthcare IT industry’s first machine learning EHR.
The company asserts that not only most EHRs were built on really old technology, the latest ones in the market have only kept up with continued changes through periodic incremental improvements. Dubbing its new mobile-first EHR as Avenel, Allscripts says that it has been built from grassroots level on Microsoft Azure cloud. The company believes that the new software solution would drastically improve the patient and clinician experience as it offers mobility, machine learning cloud-based deployment, data conversion and data sharing.
The company claims that the software gives physicians what they need, when and where they require it. This is made possible through its mobility features. Offering a novel approach to mobility, the EHR software allows 100% of the EHR workflow to be carried out through the smartphone’s user-friendly environment. The company claims to have given the full power of the EHR to physicians working in hospitals and moving from exam room to exam room at their fingertips. This will allow them to be better informed, make better decisions better and be able to engage directly with their patients.
The machine learning part of this system allows physicians to gain maximum efficiency as the system easily learns what works best for them with extreme proficiency. Believing that EHRs should carry out more functions than just storing data the company features a smart enough device that delivers the right medical information at just the right time.
The company says that Avenel utilizes Postulate™ machine learning capabilities to easily learn physicians’ treatment patterns. The system can also pre-populate medical information required on these patterns and provide preference reminders.
